Polaroid FAQs

Why do you use Vegetable oil not Olive Oil?
Vegetable Oil is used primarily for the fact that we need to keep our prices competitive on shelf. Some of our customers actually drain the veg oil and refill with Olive Oil – we don’t mind this but please bear in mind that it will go cloudy in the fridge and looks like the product has gone off when in fact it is just a natural reaction of the olive oil to cool temps.

Do any of your products contain Olive Oil?
Yes, we use Olive oil in our flagship Antipasto lines – it makes a wonderful difference to most of our products.

What do I do with the product after opening?
You need to refrigerate after opening in most cases and also freeze the product. Tips.

What countries do you buy ingredients from?
We source our ingredients from all over the world. Due to seasonal factors, most of the dried tomatoes are now grown by our Italian suppliers in Turkey. Our Peppers are also grown in Turkey whilst we source our eggplant from QLD and we insist on 100% Australian Mushrooms and Basil for our Char Grilled Mushrooms and Pesto products. We are also working with Australia's largest olive growers to bring the first commercial olive products into foodservice at a reasonable price.

What part of Italy do the Lubrano's come from?
Vince originates from Procida – an island off the coast of Naples next to Capri whilst Geraldine is from Potenza – a small town in-between Napoli and Calabria. We have the best of the mountains and the sea!
